The first day of singles and doubles competitions in Under 19 Pan American Table Tennis, Brazil had almost 100% of the athletes classified for the next phase. With a presence in all categories, Sabrina Miyabara was the only one eliminated, so far, after losing both matches against the Canadian Nicole Falls and the chilean Macarena Reyes in Rosario, Argentina.

Henrique Noguti made his debut in Group 1 of the men’s individual beating the Peruvian Adrian Rubinos 3-1. Defeated the Argentinian Tobias Hurevich 3-0 (11/7, 11/6 and 11/4) and qualified for the 32nd stage. Henrique will face Jabdiel Torresfrom Puerto Rico, this Saturday (6).

In group 2, Joon Shim lost 3-2 against the Ecuadorian Neycer Robalino to the first. then won Diego De La Cruzof Guatemala, by 3 to 0, obtaining the classification. Eusebio Vos Chile will be Shim’s opponent in the next round.

Leonard Iizuka and Felipe Arado will premiere this Saturday morning (6).

In men’s doubles, Joon Shim and Felipe Arado defeated the Argentinians Lautaro Sato and Nicolas Callaba 3-2, with the right to a spectacular comeback. Go face the Chileans Eusebio Vos and Jeremias Paredes in the quarter-finals on Saturday. Leonardo Iizuka and Henrique Noguti also beat the Americans 3-2 Ved Sheth and Darryl Tsao. Canadians Shansher Grewal and David Xu are the opponents of the next stage.

Giulia Takahashi and Leonardo Iizuka beat the canadians Simeon Martin and Crystal Liu 3-2 in mixed doubles and will face, this Saturday, the Mexican duo Bogdan Olivos and Arantxa Cossio Saturday. Henrique Noguti and Laura Watanabe beat the Argentinian duo Tobias Hurevic and Florencia Chirino easily. On Wednesdays, they will face off in a duel with Adrian Rubinos and Valentina Zea Huacánfrom Peru.
