Brie Larson, Michael Cera and other cast members from the 2010 film “Scott Pilgrim Against the World” will return to the big screen in an animated series inspired by the popular comic book about the laid-back protagonist in search of love.
Netflix released a casting announcement video on YouTube and other social media platforms on Thursday. The production of the series had been announced in January 2022, but the voice actors had not yet been revealed. The release date for the series has yet to be announced.
Cera will return to play the lead role of Scott Pilgrim and Mary Elizabeth Winstead will lend her voice to Ramona Flowers. Other cast members include ‘Captain Marvel’ star Brie Larson as Envy Adams and ‘Captain America’ star Chris Evans as Lucas Lee.
“The White Lotus” actress Aubrey Plaza and “Pitch Perfect” actress Anna Kendrick also return to voice their previous roles.
“Scott Pilgrim” is inspired by the comics of Canadian artist Bryan Lee O’Malley, with the saga of Pilgrim, who is 20 years old and lives in Toronto.
Pilgrim plays bass in a band with his friends, and everything is monotonous in his world until he falls in love with an American girl, but he must fight to defeat his seven evil ex-boyfriends so he can finally go out with her safely. .
