Ryeley Palfi, a Canadian bodybuilder, has died aged 19 after being involved in a motorcycle accident. The young athlete was considered promising in the field and was on his way to becoming “the youngest professional bodybuilder in the IFBB (English track for the International Bodybuilding Federation)”.
The information was published this Friday (10) by the New York Post and The Sun. Ryeley suffered the fatal crash on Wednesday (8), shortly after posting videos of his motorbike to Instagram Stories.
The young man is said to have said in the recorded videos that it was raining and the roads seemed slippery shortly before returning home and then heading to the gym. The exact circumstances of the accident, much deplored on social networks, are still unknown.
Ryeley had nearly 100,000 followers on Instagram and more than 15,000 subscribers on YouTube, channels where he posted bits of his daily life and showed off his body evolution. He has been touted as a potential future Mr. Olympia, the highest honor for bodybuilders.
Rick, the young man’s father, published a text to evacuate the early loss of his son. “I can’t believe you left. I can’t believe I have to try and move on without you in my life,” he wrote on Facebook. “You have touched so many lives in almost 20 years. You had such big dreams and goals.
On the networks, fans have flooded the boy’s recent posts with messages of affection. “Rest in peace. Devastating. Too young,” lamented professional bodybuilder Greg Doucette. “Rest in peace brother. You were just getting started,” said another. “You really inspired a whole generation of kids to chase their dreams,” another added.
In his latest YouTube video 9 days ago, Ryeley opened up to the fans and wrote in the description that he was set to become “the youngest professional bodybuilder in IFBB history”. I become an IFBB Pro bodybuilder at 19… Why? When I was 11, I decided to turn professional at 19,” he said. “I will remember that it pays to become a professional bodybuilder because I deserve it and because I will create a better future for me and my loved ones. »
