The Minister of Health, Nísia Trindade, said this Tuesday (26) that the government is working with the aim of producing 70% of all health inputs used in the country within ten years. “Measures will now be taken, resuming actions started 20 years ago,” he underlined, referring to the launch of strategies to strengthen the Economic and Industrial Health Complex, the ceremony of which is scheduled for today today at 11 a.m.
“Investments of 42.1 billion reais are planned. Part of this will be in the PAC [Programa de Aceleração do Crescimento]where we will have investments in public laboratories, intended for Hemobrás, to quadruple the production of vaccines, a great instrument for health regularly and for pandemic situations”, detailed Nísia during her participation in the program Conversa com o Presidente, broadcast on Canal Gov. .
According to the minister, a total amount of approximately 23 billion reais of private sector investments is planned, in addition to financing from the National Bank for Economic and Social Development (BNDES) and the Agency for Financing Studies and of projects (Finep). “In total, this represents 42.1 billion reais. This is the biggest investment in recent years because we have created a favorable system.
“To invest in innovation and production, predictability is essential. From 2017, Brazil became very vulnerable and these investments found themselves in a very difficult situation. When I was president of Fiocruz, I experienced it personally,” he said. “This action is part of the new industrial policy, a permission policy. And the health mission is to meet the needs of the population. We do not focus on the product, but on the needs felt by the unified health system.
