Maintained at the head of the State Secretariat for Tourism (Setur-BA), Maurício Bacelar was invested by Governor Jerônimo Rodrigues, this Tuesday (3), during the ceremony during which the entire secretariat took its functions. The act took place in the Green Zone of the Legislative Assembly, at the Bahia Administrative Center (CAB), in Salvador.
At the head of Setur-BA since May 2021, Bacelar begins the new direction with optimism and points to the expansion of the international tourist flow in Bahia as one of the priorities. “We are looking forward to a historic summer. In national tourism, Bahian destinations have occupied leading positions, among the most sought after by Brazilians. As for attracting foreign tourists, we must move forward, because the figures are not yet compatible with our potential. For this, we will show the world all the attractions of the 13 tourist areas of the State, with greater participation in international fairs and the realization of promotional campaigns, in addition to partnerships with embassies and the attraction of new flights and investments from abroad,” the secretary pointed out.
Biography- Maurício Bacelar is 59 years old and was born in Esplanada, on the north coast of Bahia. He holds a civil engineering degree and began his public career in the 1980s. Before taking over at Setur-BA, he served as Director General of the State Defense Agency agricultural.
