The Goodwood Festival of Speed is a veritable playground for car enthusiasts. The 2022 edition of this festival, held annually in England, presented classic cars, current models and even future releases from the most diverse manufacturers.
iCarros has selected some of the highlights of this year. Check the details of the displayed cars.
Mercedes AMG One
The long-awaited Mercedes-AMG One has finally made its official debut after years of development. Model prepared with technology from the F1 tracks, this car uses a V6 engine combined with hybrid propulsion to reach 1,077 hp and can reach 0-100 km/h in 2.9 seconds.
The 275 units promised by the brand have already been sold, well before the copies arrive in the hands of their respective owners.
Electric Ford Pro Supervan
When we think of a pickup truck, we hardly associate the vehicle with performance. The electric Ford SuperVan arrives to break this writing and goes from 0 to 100 km/h in just 2 seconds.
With 2,000 horsepower, this machine is still capable of reaching a top speed of 300 km/h. The prototype presented by the North American brand is based on the Ford Transit van, which is sold worldwide.
BMW M3 Touring
The BMW M3 Touring goes down in history as the first M3 in Station Wagon trim. The station wagon brings all the comfort of a sedan, combining performance and also a large space in the luggage compartment, which varies between 500 to 1,510 litres.
This 3 Series comes with a 3.0 liter V6 petrol engine that generates 510 hp and 66.3 kgfm of peak torque. The eight-speed M Streptonic automatic transmission features all-wheel drive and electronic rear differential lock. The M3 Touring reaches 0-100 km/h in 3.6 seconds and its top speed is 280 km/h.
Polestar 5 prototype
This prototype presented by Polestar, the former sports brand of Volvo and currently responsible for the launch of the Swedish company’s luxury electric cars, is powered by 884 horsepower and 91.77 kgfm of torque.
The Polestar 5 Protype is a four-door GT coupe that will undergo further testing before hitting the streets. The manufacturer’s idea is that it competes directly with the Porsche Taycan Turbo S.
Bugatti Chiron Super Sport 300+
A globally acclaimed super sports car, the Bugatti Chiron Super Sport 300+ celebrates breaking a barrier that many never thought could be broken. On August 2, 2019, a Chiron Super Sport 300+ broke the 300 mph (482.8 km/h) mark during a test in Germany with Andy Wallace at the wheel. It was the first mass-produced model to reach this mark.
Electra Meccanica Solo
The biggest curiosity of this vehicle is the fact that it has three wheels and is still a conventional car with a windshield. Able to accommodate a single person, as its name “Solo” indicates, this car is intended for use in large urban centers, facilitating transport in the chaotic traffic of metropolises.
With a top speed of 128 km/h, the Solo is a Canadian electric car with a range of 160 km.
Porsche 911 Sport Classic
Confirmed to come to Brazil, this special series of the Porsche 911 features a seven-speed manual transmission and rear-wheel drive. The model is based on the 992 generation and will have a limited production run of 1,250 units. The 3.7 liter engine generates 550 hp of power and 61.1 kgfm of peak torque.
The 911 Sport Classe reaches 0-100 km/h in 4.1 seconds and its top speed is 315 km/h. In Portugal, one of the countries where it is already available, the model is offered at 331,353 euros, or approximately R$1,836,420 excluding taxes.
