The Ministry of Health (MS) will promote a multi-vaccination campaign in collaboration with the States to combat the risk of reintroduction of diseases already eliminated by vaccination. Polio, for example, currently has 38.8% of the target audience vaccinated.
The initiative begins next week, in Amapá, and will continue throughout the second semester with different schedules in each region of the country.

To make the campaign successful, the ministry will conduct pre-training and analysis of local data to guide efforts. The vaccination strategy will be adapted according to the population, the health structure, the socio-economic and geographical reality.
Among the actions that can be adopted:
- Vaccination in schools,
- Active search for unvaccinated people,
- Vaccination during any contact with a health service,
- extramural vaccination,
- check the vaccination record,
- and intensification of vaccination in indigenous areas.
“We are going to propose to municipalities a different plan, where the vaccination leaves the health office and goes to the person who needs to be vaccinated. There will also be a transfer of resources to the states and municipalities, an exceptional resource for vaccination actions, which the Ministry of Health has not done for years,” explained the director of the National Program Department. of Vaccination (DPNI) of the ministry. of Health, Eder Gatti.
