The dean of the Federal Institute of Acre (Ifac), Rosana Cavalcante dos Santos, was elected on March 1, 2023, coordinator of the Chamber of International Relations of the National Council of Institutions of the Federal Network of Vocational, Scientific and Technological Education (Conif).

The strategic objective of the Chamber is to promote the internationalization and sustainable development of educational institutions in the Federal Network, by strengthening South-South technical and academic cooperation, acting in national and international networks, encouraging mobility academic and professional, by promoting language teaching and training employees and managers in comprehensiveness and multiculturalism.

A Dean will compose a Brazilian delegation of rectors, heads of international relations and pro-rectors of the Federal Network who will participate in thethe world congress of World Federation of Colleges and Polytechnics (WFCP) what’s going to happen between April 23 and 25, 2023in Montreal, Canada.

After the congress, the Dean, as coordinator of the Chamber of International Relations of Conif, will have a schedule with Colleges and Institutes Canada (ITCan) and with the directors of the Fédération des cégeps. The mission will end with a meeting with the Canada-Brazil Chamber of Commerce (CCCB) and with the First leg of Torontoan exchange agency in Toronto that has worked with federal institutes in Brazil, such as IFB, IFPB, IFPI, IFSC, IFSP, among others, for English language training and technical and administrative staff.

The Systemic Director of International Relations of Ifac, Luiz Eduardo Guedes, will accompany the Dean on both agendas, as a member of the coordination of the Forum of International Relations Advisors of the Federal Network (Forinter) since the beginning of 2022, with a mandate until the end of 2023 In addition, Professor Luiz Eduardo Guedes is the coordinator of the Federal Network’s Language Policy Working Group.

Forinter is an advisory body of Conif, made up of heads of the international relations offices of the institutions that make up the Council and its objective is to propose and articulate the international actions of the institutions of the Federal Network, advising the Chamber of International Relations of Conif.
