Montreal Canada) – This Monday’s round of the Masters 1000 in Montreal experienced a long rain delay. Originally scheduled for 1 p.m. (Brasilia), the program for the first day of main draw matches was postponed several times and did not start until 5 p.m.
Two matches have been postponed to Tuesday, the duel between Briton Andy Murray and American Taylor Fritz and the meeting between Frenchman Adrian Mannarino and Arthur Rinderknech. The organization of the tournament even favored some changes of ground, but without much impact on the calendar.
The program for the main stadium began with the match between Switzerland’s Stan Wawrinka and Finland’s Emil Ruusuvuori. After the match, the round continues at 7:30 p.m. (Brasília time) with the Canadian Denis Shapovalov against the Australian Alex de Minaur. In the last match of the session, the Argentinian Diego Schwartzman faces the Spaniard Alejandro Davidovich Fokina
Court Rogers, second in the complex, will pit Francisco Cerundolo against Karen Khachanov. On court 9, Alex Molcan and Mackenzie McDonald face each other. The debut of Brazilian Bruno Soares in the doubles table is maintained for Monday. The miner plays alongside Briton Jamie Murray on court 5 against also Briton Daniel Evans and Australian John Peers.
