The structure of a sports field collapsed this Thursday (19) in Itapevi, Greater São Paulo, on Rua Penélope, in Jardim Rainha. According to the town hall, the space was prohibited “due to the poor structural conditions” (read more below).
According to firefighters, at least one person died at the scene and two others were rescued by the Samu, and the incident continues. According to the prefecture, a 30-year-old man died at the scene and another was sent to a health facility with facial injuries.

In a note, the town hall of Itapevi indicated that “the sports field in Rua Raquel, in Parque Wey, had been prohibited since 2018, due to the poor structural conditions. However, in the afternoon of this Thursday (19), around 3:50 p.m., the structure collapsed, while two employees of the said company were carrying out the demolition service. A 30-year-old man died at the scene and another was taken to a health unit with facial injuries.
City Hall regrets what happened and will take all appropriate action in relation to the death and collapse,” the note reads.
