Every day, an average of 35 crews carry out manual or mechanized street sweeping, weeding and cleaning to remove paper, tree leaves and dirt that accumulate and can cause blockages in the sewers.

the municipal administration seeing the team cleaning Gunter Hans Avenue today. “The clean-up has been done well, but many residents do not help and throw their trash in the street. » A common situation faced daily by Paulo Alves Barbosa and Rodrigo Oliveira, who were cleaning the median of Gunter Hans Avenue this Tuesday.

In just over 20 meters, they picked up two trash bags. Each bag can hold up to 40 kilos of waste. “We can find everything, these days we receive a lot of disposable diapers,” comments Rodrigo. “It often happens that we clean, collect the waste and soon people start throwing their waste in the street again.” Nevertheless, for them and their teammate Isabelino Camargo, it is a pleasure to work to keep the city where they live clean. “It’s good for us to have recognition for our work,” commented Isabelino.
