To cheers from the audience, The Weeknd appeared in a temple-like structure, dressed in an embroidered black robe, a cross between a dapper Freemason and a somber pastor, as if he were about to lead a service, described by g1.

“São Paulo, welcome to my opera,” he said.

The performance that attracted the most attention was the image referring to the Temple of Jerusalem in flames.

In one of the scenarios, figures of “people caught in the air” appear on a bluish background. Shortly afterwards, the Temple of Jerusalem is depicted in flames.

In a statement, g1 said: “It was unclear whether this was a celebration of the end of the world or the genesis of another. In any case, the musician transformed this moment into a spectacle, bringing back the dancers in red dresses from the last tour.

Dedicated to the album’s concept, The Weeknd ended the show by disappearing into smoke, walking through the “door” of the screen. “Hurry up tomorrow. In heaven, everything is fine,” he said.
