TikTok star Megha Thakur has died ‘suddenly and unexpectedly’ just days after posting a video of herself walking in New York, captioned with a cryptic message.

The Canadian was born in Brampton, Ont., and was just 21 when she died on the morning of Nov. 24, according to her parents’ Instagram post.

“It is with heavy hearts that we announce the light of our lives, our kind, caring and beautiful daughter, Megha Thakur, passed away suddenly and unexpectedly on November 24, 2022, in the wee hours of the morning,” it read. in the message.
A few days earlier, on Nov. 18, Thakur posted a video of himself crossing a New York street with the caption, “You are in charge of your destiny.” Remember this.

Thakur started posting on TikTok in 2019 with a focus on body positivity and self-confidence content.
She studied computer science at Western University in 2021 and worked as a model.

His last TikTok video was posted days before his tragic death, but it’s unclear when the footage was taken as Thakur and nearby pedestrians appeared to be dressed for warmer weather.

Fans, followers and loved ones posted messages on TikTok videos as they reacted in shock to the influencer’s death.

“Please God no this can’t happen,” one person wrote.

Another wrote: “She inspired me so much her love was unconditional, I always wanted to see others only earn the best things to say about her, my heart is so broken. sending lots of love to your family.
Megha Thakur had over 930,000 followers on TikTok and over 100,000 on Instagram.
