In practice, the ceremony proves that no votes were counted for any candidate in the electoral justice database.

“What the system does is connect to the database and check the tables in which there are voting records. A calculation is made and we are able to identify that there is no vote for any candidate. This process is carried out here at the TSE and also in each unit of the Federation”, clarified the IT secretary of the court, Júlio Valente.
This Sunday (2), before the start of the vote, between 7:00 a.m. and 7:30 a.m., all polling stations must print the zeros of the ballot box. After printing, the zero must be signed by the president of the polling station and by the tellers who make up the section. Party inspectors or party federations present also sign the document.
Any citizen will be able to mark the zero of the electronic ballot box in his electoral section when he goes to vote, because, according to the same resolution, it must be displayed in a visible place. Ballot box integrity test
Also this Saturday, electronic voting machines were raffled off to be audited through integrity testing after the election was over. This drawing of lots is carried out in all the Regional Electoral Courts of the country.
In the Federal District, 20 ballot boxes were drawn to be submitted to the test, which should take place in the Legislative Chamber of the Federal District (CLDF) and at the Canadian School this Sunday (2), date of the first round of the elections . The test has been carried out since 2002. This year the test will also be carried out with voters who have registered biometric data.
“We are going to do a simulation to prove that the ballot box works, is correct and is not subject to fraud,” said the president of the Regional Electoral Court of the Federal District (TRE-DF), Roberval Belinati.
“So far in history, no discrepancies in the process have been found. The process is filmed, has the participation of inspection entities and can be followed,” he added.
