On Sunday March 12, in Pucón, Chile, another stage of the Triathlon Cup America with the presence of 13 Brazilians. Eight for elite men and five for women. On the men’s side, victory went to Canadian Liam Donnelly, who completed the entire course in 00:54:08, being only 4 seconds faster than Japanese Aoba Yasumatsu and 6 seconds faster than Brazilian Antonio Bravo Neto. Aoba and Antonio occupied the second and third positions respectively.
The other Brazilian representatives in the men’s category were: Kauê Willy (9th), Felipe Bianchi (16th), João Teixeira Alvares (17th), Matheus Diniz (18th), Matheus Oliveira Martinhaki (24th), David Lucas Oliveira Souza (29th) and Thiago Gomide Moreira who did not complete the test. Of the 68 athletes initially registered, only 44 finished the race.
Among the women, the best Brazilian result was that of Giovana Lacerda, who won the silver medal just 2 seconds behind the winner, the representative of Slovakia, Ivana Kuriackova. Argentina’s Romina Biagioli completed the podium in third place.
The other Brazilians in the competition were: Luma Guillen (10th), Maria Clara Abreu Borges Cunha (13th), Gabrielle Lemes (19th) and Julia Munhoz who did not finish the race. At the start, 41 athletes were registered, of whom only 30 crossed the finish line.
