Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau announced on Twitter on Saturday that he had ordered the shooting down of an unidentified object flying over Canadian airspace. According to the post, the object was seen flying over the Yukon region.
Trudeau also said he had spoken with Joe Biden, President of the United States, to have Canadian forces lead the operation to recover and analyze the wreckage of the object.
Canadian Defense Minister Anita Anand revealed at a press conference this Saturday (11) that wreckage recovery operations are underway and will be coordinated with the United States. These operations will allow a detailed investigation of the unidentified object that was shot down.
Although he claims to have no more information about the object, the minister said that apparently it is small and cylindrical. It also appears to be smaller than the downed object in North Carolina, USA.
Anita Anand also said that there is no reason to believe that the impact of the object on Canadian territory should worry the inhabitants of the country.
