On this first day of the legends stage, you can see how happy Liquid Star was Jonathan “Elie” Jablonowski play in Brazil, but not everyone can say that Liquid’s other star, Keith “NAF” Markovich, also fell in love with the public in Rio de Janeiro. NAF is one of the quietest players on the scene and rarely seems to be affected by the crowd, but even someone as quiet as him has fallen in love with the atmosphere created by the fans.

“I love being in Brazil,” NAF said. “People might think I’m saying that, but no. Brazil is a unique atmosphere, fans here are not like other fans. It helps a lot that we played with Steel and TACO, we had Juice as our coach, we had FalleN. Because they were in our team, the Brazilians were with us. They show so much love. I love this Sita.

The Canadian said the fans were delighted and spent “an hour” signing autographs for them. Liquid received crowd support twice today, first against MOUZ in the first round (MOUZ 16-2) and then against Sprout (Liquid 16-5).

“It’s always a pleasure to be here and I believe there will always be a place in the calendar year for an event in Brazil because they deserve it,” NAF said. “I want to come back here as often as possible, I love it here!”

As the IEM Rio Major goes on, it’s only natural that the Brazilian fan base will push for more events in the country. Imperial player Vinicius “VINI” Figueiredo has already asked ESL to consider holding annual tournaments in Brazil. And his opinion was confirmed by popular sports talent Eefje “Sjokz” Depoortere.
