Dabrowski and Routliffe provisionally lead a strong group in the doubles final

Cancún (Mexico) – Current US Open doubles champions Canadian Gabriela Dabrowski and New Zealander Erin Routliffe debuted with a big win at the WTA Finals. They beat the North Americans Coco Gauff and Jessica Pegula, seeded, by 7/6 (7-2) and 6/3.
With this result, Dabrowski and Routliffe provisionally lead the Mahahual Group in Cancún, which still has two partnerships that have not yet started, the very strong Czech duo Barbora Krejcikova and Katerina Siniakova, who debut against the German Laura Siegemund and the Russian Vera Zvonareva. This match should only take place on Tuesday.

In the Maya Ka’an group, Japanese Shuko Aoyama and Ena Shibahara beat North American Desirae Krawczyk and Dutch Demi Schuurs 7/5 and 6/2 in the first round on Sunday.
Aoyama and Shibahara will play again on Monday, at 4:30 p.m. (Brasilia time), against the Belgian Elise Mertens and the Australian Storm Hunter. Krawczyk and Schuurs will play at the end of the evening against the Australian Ellen Perez and the North American Nicole Melichar-Martinez.
