SÃO PAULO (Reuters) – The Votorantim group and the Canadian fund CPP Investments announced on Thursday the creation of a new company, Floen, to invest in the development of innovative technologies and business models linked to the energy transition.
The company will seek partners with proven technologies and high-growth business models in areas such as energy generation and storage, green hydrogen, alternative fuels and materials, mobility and digital solutions, efficiency and carbon management.
Joint venture projects for this type of activity had already been announced at the end of 2021, when Votorantim and CPPI decided to integrate their energy assets and the ex-Cesp into a new company, Auren Energia.
Floen is commanded by Raphaella Gomes, who was previously Director of Energy Transition and Investments at Raízen and CEO of Raízen Geo Biogás.
“Innovative clean energy solutions are essential for a safe and sustainable transition and, with the combination of the long-term investment experience of our shareholders and the entrepreneurial spirit on which Floen was founded, we have the ambition to be a benchmark in this theme,” Gomes said, in a note.
