THE Brazilian team the women are called up for the next Fifa Date, in February, when they compete in the SheBelieves Cup. Coach Pia Sundhage unveiled the list on Tuesday at the CBF headquarters in Rio de Janeiro.
- The big news was Marta’s summons. She underwent knee surgery in March last year and is yet to play.
- The SheBelieves Cup runs from February 13-22.
- Brazil will face teams from the United States, Japan and Canada.
- The Brazilian team makes its debut against Japan on February 16 at the Exploria Stadium in Orlando at 6 p.m. (Brasilia time). Next, they will face Canada on the 19th at GEODIS Park, Nashville, at 8:30 p.m. (Brasilia time). In the final round, Brazil will face the United States on the 22nd at Toyota Stadium in Frisco at 8:30 p.m. (Brasilia time).
- The competition features teams ranked in the top eleven by FIFA. All are qualified for the Women’s World Cup.
- The winner of the tournament will be the one with the most points in the three games each team will play.
- The winners of the other editions are the United States (2016, 2018, 2020, 2021 and 2022), France (2017) and England (2019).
The Women’s World Cup will take place this year between July and August, in Australia and New Zealand.
