Luisa Stefani has returned to the top 50 in the world in the new ranking published this week by WTA, the Association of Professional Tennis Players. The player moved up six positions with the conquest of the WTA 125 in Montevideo, Uruguay, alongside Rio de Janeiro-based Ingrid Martins, last Saturday.
After a year off due to knee surgery, Luisa returned to the courts in mid-September and, after winning on Uruguayan soil, ended the 2022 season which won three.
He soon returns to the circuit with the WTA 250 trophy in Chennai, India, with Canadian Gabriela Dabrowski. Then he won the WTA 1000 in Guadalajara, Mexico, with the Australian Storm Sanders and, to close, he won the Uruguayan event. Luisa returned with a 718th ranking and racked up a jump of 670 positions finishing the season in 48th place.
“I’m really happy to end the year winning three out of six tournaments. And to be able to get into the top 50 after coming close to zero is really cool. I’m also really relieved to end the season in good health. is The main thing. Now it’s partying and resting a bit during the next few weeks of vacation. I’m excited to start the pre-season later. May 2023 be a great year”, celebrated the tennis player.
