With three medals, France stands out at the French Grand Prix of figure skating

On November 3 and 4, 2023, in Angers, France, the third of six stages of the Grand Prix of figure skating. Skaters earn points based on their finishing position and the top six qualify for the seventh and final stage, which will take place December 7-10, 2023 in Beijing, China.

We had the men’s individual, women’s individual, couples and ice dance categories. No Brazilians were present in any of them.

In the category singles gentlemen the best of the 12 skaters was Adam Siao Him Fa, representing France, with 306.78 points, followed closely by the American Ilia Malinin with his 304.68 points. Japan’s Yuma Kagiyama scored 273.14 and came third.

At ladies singles Isabeau Levito of the United States was the champion with 203.22 points. Belgian Nina Pinzarrone won silver with 198.80 points and bronze went to Japanese Rion Sumiyoshi who scored 197.76 points.

We pairs Canada took the center of the podium with Lia Pereira/Trennt Michaud with 194.67 points. In second place with 189.46, the Italians Sara Conti/Niccolo Macii and in third the French Camille/Pavel Kovalev who scored 172.88. In total, eight duets performed.

Finally, in ice dancing 10 duos participated. Best for the Italians Charlene Guignard/Marco Fabbri who scored 214.54 points. Canadians Laurence Fournier Beaudry/Nikolaj Soerensen finished second with 205.15 and French Evgeniia Lopareva/Geoffrey Brissaud third with 190.82.

The next stop will take place in Chongqing, China, from November 10 to 12.
