A young Canadian broke a world record while helping the environment! He planted 23,060 trees in just 24 hours. That’s a tree every 3.5 seconds!
Antoine Moses, 23, says his biggest dream when he started this difficult mission was to try to reverse the effects caused by deforestation in Canada. He also wants to encourage other young people to fight more for nature.
And it seems to work! Antoine’s video went viral and he ended up entering the Guinness Book, with the world record. Until then, the highest recorded feat was 15,170 trees, set in 2001 by another Canadian, Kenny Chaplin.
improve the planet
Antoine specializes in “rapid planting”, a form of reforestation undertaken by thousands of people every year. There are few tools and many seeds. He usually visits areas affected by fires, with the intention of restoring forests.
During this time, Antoine has planted over one million trees in Canada alone.
“I’ve always liked to push my limits,” said the young man, who is an amateur athlete. Antoine runs several marathons and is used to activities that require more physical effort.
He says he became an environmentalist and planted trees five years ago when he started spreading plants across Quebec, where he lives, but was never noticed by Guinness.

Inspiration
Antoine plants trees as if it were a sport and is happy that Guinness recognizes it.
He wakes up around 4 a.m. and takes bananas, protein bars, and peanut butter with him when he goes out to scatter tree seeds.
And this satisfaction of helping to improve the planet, he uses to inspire other young people to do the same.
The boy said he was doing all this in memory of someone very dear to him.
“I lost a friend of mine…and I kind of did it for her,” he revealed.
Antoine Moses’ videos are shared on social networks such as Instagram and TikTok.
