A netflix recently launched its plan called Basic plan without ads. This streaming platform plan option allows its subscribers to pay a lesser amount, in exchange for movies and series with lower viewing quality without ads.

However, subscribers to this plan in Canada got a big surprise this week, when Netflix has decided to end its offer without any notice to consumers.

O Basic plan without ads was offered by netflix for 10 Canadian dollars per month, which is equivalent to approximately 36 reais at current exchange rates. In this way, the plan offered access to the platform’s catalog of films and series without any type of advertising. However, there were limitations, such as HD resolution which was only available for one screen at a time.

despite the blow end of this netflix plan in Canada, the company has informed that users already subscribed will be able to continue using the service, until they cancel the plan or choose another option. Therefore, the measure affects new users who intended to opt for this Basic plan without adswhich is no longer available.

Netflix’s decision reverberates across the internet

The decision to netflix end the Basic plan without ads in Canada did not resonate very well with Internet users. In this sense, on Twitter several users have complained about the end of this basic package of the streaming platform, with the first complaints having been registered at the beginning of this month.

This shows that despite the recent announcement of the netflixO Basic plan No ads hasn’t been available to new Canadian customers for some time, quietly. It is important to note that Canada was one of the first countries to receive the basic subscription to the platform last year, even before the United States.

Including the netflix had upgraded its basic plan in April, allowing the use of two simultaneous screens with Full HD videos. According to TechCrunch, a website focused on tech news, there is no information on when the company’s Basic plan will end in countries other than Canada.

In Brazil, this modality of netflix package costs R$ 25.90 per month. On the other hand, the premium subscription costs 55.90 BRL.

Round 6 creator claims he’s not rich

Round 6 is a South Korean series published by netflix in 2021, and became one of the platform’s biggest hits in a very short time. According to the Los Angeles Times, the streaming platform made something around $900 billion from the series, however, its creator, Dong-hyuk claims he didn’t get rich.

Dong-hyuk explains that he waived his intellectual rights to Tower 6 for Netflixalso forgoing any residual payments, which arise when the creator earns money from reproducing their production over the years.

“I made enough to put food on the table, but I’m not richsaid the Round 6 creator. Yet this type of contract is common in South Korea, and Dong-hyuk does not regret giving up his rights to the netflix. Indeed, the South Korean had been trying for many years to conclude a partnership with a producer or a broadcaster, but without success.
