The Chinese Zheng Qinwen, world number 24, won the WTA 500 in Zhengzhou this Sunday (15th), beating the Czech Barbora Krejcikova (18th) in the final.
Qinwen closed the match in 2 sets to 1, with scores of 2-6, 6-2 and 6-4, in two hours and 26 minutes.

Playing at home, the 21-year-old Chinese won the second title of her career, after being champion in Palermo this year.
Krejcikova, 2021 Roland-Garros champion and former world number 2, started the match better, but Qinwen reacted and sealed the victory in the 10th game of the third set.
“It was such a special experience to win my first 500 in China, especially in Zhengzhou,” said Zheng Qinwen, who will return to the Top 20 of the WTA rankings on Monday.
Canadian Leylah Fernandez is WTA 250 champion in Hong Kong
Canadian Leylah Fernandez, world number 60, won the WTA 250 in Hong Kong this Sunday (15th), beating Czech Katerina Siniakova (85th) in the final.
Fernández closed the match in 2 sets to 1, with scores of 3-6, 6-4 and 6-4, in two hours and 39 minutes.
The Canadian, finalist at the US Open in 2021, won her third title in the women’s professional circuit in Hong Kong, after being double champion of the Monterrey tournament (2021 and 2022).
With this victory, Leylah Fernandez, 21, will return to the Top 50 of the WTA rankings on Monday.
