São José dos Campos received, this Friday (20), four ambulances for the renewal of the Samu 192 (Mobile Emergency Care Service) fleet with the aim of further improving and streamlining the service to the population and to save lives.

The drivers went this Friday to São Paulo to collect the vehicles, whose donation agreement, by the Ministry of Health, was signed by a representative of the Ministry of Health on September 27.

The city has nine ambulances, seven for basic support and two for advanced support. This year alone, 25,371 services were provided.

São José is part of Consavap (Intermunicipal Health Consortium of Alto Vale do Paraíba), formed by eight RMVale cities (Metropolitan Region of Vale do Paraíba, North Coast and Serra da Mantiqueira).

Shared base

In recent years, the city of São José dos Campos has increased its investments in Samu, which since 2017 has had Qmentum international certification, a Canadian accreditation that controls performance standards in the areas of quality and safety, defined globally, for healthcare establishments.

In accordance with the 2021-2024 management plan, the work is already underway the new fire brigade base, which will operate in Santana, in the northern region, and will be shared with the Samu.

The works include the construction of a building with a living room, pantry, women’s and men’s toilets, two bedrooms and an area to park two ambulances, including infrastructure to enable vehicle washing.

New structure

Another improvement, Consavap opened, at the end of last year, its new administrative headquarters, at CPI1 (Command of the Internal Police), of the Military Police, in the central region of São José.

The space unifies the management and operation of the service, allowing better technical conditions and the use of intelligence tools for the benefit of the population.

Since 2017, the The Samu regulation center, which bears the number 192, operates in an integrated manner with the Copom (Military Police Operations Center) and the Cobom (Firefighter Operations Center).

São José was the first city in the state of São Paulo to have this unified service delivery system.

Motorcycles

Also last year, as part of another innovation aimed at further improving service to the population, the Town Hall implemented the motorcycle project, motorcycles used mainly for first aid in the event of accidents or disasters. other emergencies.

The project is another extension of the delegated activity, a partnership between the city hall and the state government.

All motorcycle and ambulance drivers are firefighters, trained to respond to emergencies in a short time.

With motorcycles, it is possible to reduce the time interval between the moment the communications center receives emergency information and the arrival of emergency services on the scene.

Each motorcycle is equipped with an AED (automatic external defibrillator) and is used in cases where emergency medical services are called and arrival on scene is estimated 3-5 minutes before the ambulance.

There are four motorcycles and 1,682 services have already been carried out since the project was implemented last year.
