The Brazilian photographer, Jonne Roriz, received this month, in Italy, the prize for the best photo at the Siena International Photo Awards 2022. He was awarded in the category “Sports in Action” (Sports in action in literal translation) , for a photo produced at the Tokyo Olympics.
“We’ve never worked to receive an award, but when we win, we feel that the idea and the feeling that we tried to put into practice worked. It’s always nice to win an award like this. It is also gratifying to know that the investment made in registering a good image has been rewarded with this award,” says Jonne Roriz.
The photo was taken with the EOS R3 camera and the RF 70-200mm F2.8 L IS USM lens. “I used the technology of eye tracking present in the camera, where it detects your iris and focuses where you look. So it was an important resource to get this result,” he says.
Jonne is a member of Canon’s CPS, Canon Professional Services, which assists photography professionals associated with the loan of equipment to cover major events.
“For us, it’s special to have a Brazilian, and above all, a professional like Jonne who knows how to get the most out of his equipment, receiving a world-renowned award. We are happy to have him as a partner”, explains Marco Guimarães, manager of CPS in Brazil.
