Bronze medalist at the 2016 Rio de Janeiro Olympics and 2019 world champion, Arthur Nory suffered pain in his left shoulder during the parallel bars performance and only finished in ninth place, with 77,932 points.

To guarantee a place in Paris, the gymnast from Campinas (SP) could only be behind the Americans, the Canadians and his compatriot Diogo Barbosa. All are confirmed for the 2024 Olympic Games. But all is not lost.

Arthur Nory can still qualify as a pull-up specialist thanks to the World Cup, which will take place in the first half of next year.

“I am firm, always ready to be able to represent my sport, to be able to represent my country in the best way possible. Unfortunately, mistakes happen. The tears are because we know we can do it, we know it is possible. Sometimes we don’t come, so it’s a lot of work,” said Arthur Nory.

The one who had many reasons to rejoice was Diogo Soares, who increased his production during the tests and finished with 81.865 points, behind only Canadian Felix Dolci (82.531). American Donnel Whitteburg completed the podium with 81.764.

One of the big names in Brazilian gymnastics today, Diogo Soares managed to qualify for the Paris Olympics by placing tenth at the World Championships held in Belgium at the beginning of October.
