Aurum, developer of legal software Astrea and Themis, announced Marcela Quint as the company’s new CEO.
Quint succeeds Antonio Gerassi Neto, founder and CEO of the company since 2005.
Aurum was acquired in 2019 by Constellation Software, a Canadian software company, and the change of command took place after Neto completed the so-called compensation period.
In the jargon of the investment group, the earn out is the period during which the founders undertake to remain at the head of the acquired company, in exchange for additional remuneration linked to the achievement of objectives.
Quint has been with Aurum since 2011 when he joined as a UX and UI designer. She has held positions as coordinator, manager and marketing director in recent years, in addition to becoming a partner in the company in 2018.
The new CEO was responsible for the team that developed the company’s flagship product, Astrea, software built in the cloud and sold under a subscription model that has more than 76,000 users.
The executive is also a co-founder of Aerochimps, a developer of flexible and scalable apps for mobile and desktop devices, and Hotelup, a web-based software that simplifies the reservation system from the cloud at the front desk of each hotel.
She has worked in companies such as Dígitro Tecnologia, Vieira Ishikawa Software and Fundação CERTI.
