Between November 10 and 12, 2023, in Chongqing, China, the fourth of six stages of the Grand Prix of figure skating. Skaters earn points based on their finishing position and the top six qualify for the seventh and final stage, which will take place December 7-10, 2023 in Beijing, China.
We had the men’s individual, women’s individual, couples and ice dance categories. No Brazilians were present in any of them.
In the category singles gentlemen the best of the 12 skaters was the French representative Adam Siao Him Fa, who had already won the previous stage. In this one, the Frenchman scored 298.38 points. Second place went to Japanese Shoma Uno with 279.98 points and third place to Kazakh Mikhail Shaidorov with 264.46.
At ladies singles there was a Japanese double with Hana Yoshida and her 203.97 points followed very closely by her compatriot Rinka Watanabe and her 203.22 points. The Belgian Loena Hendrickx with 201.49 points completes the podium at this stage. Eleven skaters competed.
Deanna Stellato-Dudek/Maxime Deschamps, Canadians, were the winners of the pairs. They scored 201.48 points. The Italians Rebecca Ghilardi/Filippo Ambrosini, with 191.00 points, finished second and the Chinese Cheng Peng/Lei Wang with 178.06 third. A total of eight pairs played.
A new double, this time Canadian, occurred in ice dancing. Piper Gilles/Paul Poirier formed the best duo of the nine who performed. They scored 207.83 points, closely followed by their compatriots Marjorie Lajoie/Zachary Lagha and their 206.02 points. The American duo formed by Caroline Green/Michael Parsons completes the podium with 189.33 points in total.
The next stop will take place in Espoo, Finland, between November 17 and 20.
