The last time Brazil were champions was in 2015, with Ágatha and Bárbara, in the Netherlands. With this, Duda and Ana Patrícia confirm the good phase, which comes from the time of the base, when they were twice World Under-21 Champions and won the Youth Olympic Games.

They also renew Brazil’s expectations, especially after the country lost a medal for the first time at the Olympics, in the dispute in Tokyo last year. “I always wanted this title, just like I want the Olympic title. It is the crowning achievement of all the work that has been done, of our history and of the path we have traveled,” said Ana Patrícia.

In the first set, Brazil set a good pace and gave the Canadians no chance. With good attacks from Duda and Ana Patrícia in the block, the Brazilian team opened 12-7 and only had to manage the advantage to confirm victory.

The second set was more balanced and the Canadian team seemed to make life difficult for the Brazilians when they scored 17-16. But a time out was crucial to calm the spirits of Duda and Ana Patrícia.
