“He already knew some players in the group. Called for information, and they were the best they could be. Let’s add the sector that we had some changes: the departure of Jussa and also Felipe, who is being negotiated. We needed to reintegrate this sector and Caio Alexandre comes to qualify our workforce even more”, he commented.
Caio was revealed by Botafogo-RJ, where he went through the basic and aspiring categories. For the Rio de Janeiro team, he played 50 games for the professional, scored five goals and provided one assist. For the Vancouver Whitecaps, he played for the past two seasons in Major League Soccer (MLS) and was champion of the Canadian Championship, a tournament that represents the Canadian elite.
“He’s a young player, he appeared very well at Botafogo, so much so that he was traded to MLS. Player with characteristics for the roles of first and second midfielder, he arrives in the opposing box , has good ball control, and when the opportunity to come here arose, he showed interest in coming, the desire to be in Fortaleza and run with us,” concluded Marcelo.
