More than a week before the 3rd edition of Smart City Expo Curitiba 2022, the largest Brazilian event for smart cities, which should bring together 10,000 people from around thirty countries on March 24 and 25, at the Positivo Events Center (Parque Barigui ), adding face-to-face and remote audiences.

Paraná hosts the event for the third time. It is organized since 2018 by iCities Smart Cities Solutions – a pioneering business and solutions hub in smart cities in Brazil. The opening ceremony will take place in the presence of Governor Carlos Massa Ratinho Junior, as well as mayors and authorities from all over the country.

The event’s congress space will bring together more than 100 experts from around the world presenting the latest technologies for smart cities, innovation and disruptive businesses, governance in a smart society, smart mobility for the future and cities durable.

One of the biggest names in innovation in Silicon Valley, California (USA), Indian-Canadian entrepreneur Salim Ismail will be one of the main keynotes at the event. He is one of the founders of Singularity University, one of the most prestigious universities in the world in the field of innovation.

In addition to Ismail – who is the author of the bestseller “Exponential Organizations”, appointed in 2017 to the board of directors of the XPRIZE Foundation – the SCECWB will have the presence of Gil Peñalosa, one of the internationally renowned urban planners, who will make the opening panel.

5G AND ATTRACTIONS – With free admission, the exhibition space will feature the stand of the Brazilian Industrial Development Agency (ABDI), with the 5G experience. Visitors will get a taste of what it will be like to have this technology. Curitiba is among the first cities in the country to be covered in 5G by 2023.

Among the advantages are applications involving artificial intelligence, augmented reality and virtual reality. Renault will again be present with a test drive of electric cars, but also with vehicles available for rental over the two days of the event.

Smart Plaza Vale do Pinhão will bring together ecosystem innovations that are changing the lives of Curitibans. Pioneering proposals will be presented such as the knowledge and innovation beacons, the Saúde Já app, the telemedicine service in the capital, Fazenda Urbana, Muralha Digital and Wi-Fi Curitiba.

CONNECTIONS – The SCECWB will once again act as a formidable connection and networking hub between managers of public initiatives, leaders and executives of private organizations, investors, entrepreneurs, researchers, funding agencies and society civil. With the support of the State Government, City of Curitiba, Agência Curitiba and Vale do Pinhão, the event is sponsored by companies such as Mastercard, Indra, Sebrae Paraná, L8, Planet Smart City, BRDE and Geotab.

The SCECWB22 congress will have five themes that dialogue with the theme “Society leading the urban future”, with speakers from countries such as the United States, Canada, Mexico, Italy, Portugal, Colombia and Uruguay.
