Canadian rapper and influencer Lil Tay, 14, was announced dead after a post on her official Instagram. However, the young girl and her brother are alive. Her account on the social network was hacked, which sparked the confusion, the singer explained to the TMZ site.

“I want to make it clear that my brother and I are safe and alive, but I am completely heartbroken and struggling to find the right words to say it. It was a very traumatic 24 hours,” the teenager said.

“All day yesterday I was bombarded with endless heartbreaking and tearful phone calls from loved ones as I tried to sort this out,” the now-famous influencer said at the age of nine by posting swear-filled videos to describe a luxurious lifestyle. .

With more than 3.4 million followers on Instagram, Lil Tay had not posted on the network since 2018 and had her account hacked, but has now managed to get it back.

“My Instagram account was compromised by a third party and used to spread shocking information and rumors about me, to the point where even my name was false. My legal name is Tay Tian, not ‘Claire Hope’,” the girl emphasized.

The death of Lil Tay and her brother Jason Tian was announced this Wednesday, August 9 through a publication on the teenager’s Instagram. The publication said the cases were under investigation, but police in Vancouver, where the young woman previously lived, and Los Angeles, where she moved, said they did not have the records.

“It is with heavy hearts that we share the devastating news of the sudden and tragic passing of our beloved Claire (Lil Tay’s real name),” the note begins.

“We have no words to express this unbearable loss and indescribable pain. This incident was totally unexpected and left us in shock,” the official information said.

The statement also points out that his brother, Jason Tian, also died. At the time of writing, the causes had not been revealed.

“The passing of your brother adds an even deeper pain. During this time of immense sadness, we ask that you respect our privacy as we grieve this overwhelming grief, as the circumstances surrounding the deaths of Claire and her brother are still under investigation.”
