Lourdes finished tenth, joining groups A and B, lifting a total of 197 kg, 83 kg in the snatch and a superb result in the clean and jerk, lifting 114 kg, becoming the new Brazilian record holder in the under 20 years old and also in the adult category.

Victory went to Emily Estep of the United States, who lifted a total of 214 kg, 94 kg in the snatch and 120 in the clean and jerk, second place went to Canadian Charlotte Simoneau, who competed in group B and third place went to Olha Ivzhenko. , from Ukraine.

Lourdes Califrer took advantage of the Junior World Cup to consolidate the good results obtained in the basic weightlifting categories in Brazil. Last year, for example, she won three medals at the South American Under-20 Championship and was among the top four at the Pan American Championship. This is his last year in the U20 category.

The other Brazilian present at the Worlds is Taiane Justino, who will compete in the over 87 kg category on November 23. Last year, in her first U20 World Cup, she became the Brazilian athlete to lift the most weight in history: 229 kg, which earned her seventh place in the tournament. Taiane is one of Brazil’s main bets for the next Olympic cycle.
