The Municipal Health Directorate opened this Sunday (8) the first vaccination concept store in shopping centersIt is in operation at ParkShoppingCampoGrande, west of the city.
The concept store will be open during the entire shopping center opening period, Monday to Saturday, from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m., and Sundays and public holidays, from 12 p.m. to 9 p.m. According to the secretariat, it is proposed to extend a model similar to that of the Super Centro Carioca de Vaccination, in Botafogo, to other regions, where vaccination is available throughout the week, during extended hours.
Installed in the Campo Grande neighborhood, the new fixed point of the health zone will make vaccinations available for routine vaccination and for campaigns and updating of vaccination records for all age groups, in accordance with the National Program of Vaccination. Even if the problem is in a mall, all vaccines will be offered free of charge by the Unified Health System (SUS). The project is part of the Vaccina, Rio program, a cross-sectoral mobilization that encompasses a set of initiatives aimed at encouraging vaccination of people of all ages, in all regions of the city.
According to the Municipal Secretary of Health, Daniel Soranz, the concept store aims to expand the supply of vaccines to the population, on days and times different from those usual and, thus, to facilitate access to the service. “The ability to provide space in shopping centers aims to bring the vaccination routine closer to people’s daily lives, promoting convenience and ease of access for the general public.
The first concept store is 113 square meters (m²). The space was designed and decorated to stimulate children’s playful world, deconstructing the idea that vaccine time cannot be fun. The place also has a corner so that the public, in addition to taking care of their health, can record every moment alongside the character Zé Gotinha.
The municipal Health Department plans to open more concept stores in other shopping malls in the city soon.
