One person has died and two have been injured after a shooting at the Xcaret hotel in the Playa del Carmen area of Mexico. The case took place this Friday (21/1). According to local authorities, all the victims are Canadians.
In a social media post, Quintana Roo State Public Security Secretary Lucio Hernández Gutiérrez said the shooting took place after an argument between guests at the address.
One of the tourists staying at the establishment shot the other victims. According to the secretary, the suspect has not yet been arrested. However, security camera footage was released to facilitate the arrest of the accused.
“The authorities of the coordination group are deploying a strong operation to capture him. Any information for an immediate arrest will be deeply appreciated,” Gutiérrez wrote.
