It might be funny on the Internet, but the advertising is real and comes from Nintendo itself: There will be a live-action film (with actors) of The Legend of Zelda. Shigeru Miyamoto is involved in the project as a producer, alongside Avi Arad, president of Arad Productions. Yes, the same person who led Marvel Studios for a long time and brought us dozens of hero films!

The Legend of Zelda movie will be co-financed by Sony Pictures Entertainment and Nintendo, which is more than 50% funded. Sony will be responsible for theatrical distribution.

Nintendo said in a statement: “By producing Nintendo-owned visual content itself, Nintendo is creating new opportunities for people around the world to access the world of entertainment that Nintendo has built, in ways beyond its consoles. By being deeply involved in the production of the film with the aim of making everyone smile, Nintendo will continue its efforts to produce unique entertainment and offer it to as many people as possible.

Shigeru Miyamoto also left this statement: “I have been working on the live-action film The Legend of Zelda with Avi Arad-san for many years, which has produced many successful films. I asked Avi-san to produce this film with me and we have now officially started development on the film with Nintendo itself heavily involved in the production. It will take a while, but I hope you look forward to seeing it.

Internet is going crazy
