The Playoffs » Dillon Brooks signs with the Rockets for four years

Guard Dillon Brooks signed a four-year, $80 million contract with the Houston Rockets on Saturday, according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.

According to Woj, the Rockets have accepted their two main goals this season. free agencyFred Van Vleet and Brooks.

According to Shams Charania of The Athletic, Houston is still looking for a way to turn the deal into a sign-and-trade deal with the Memphis Grizzlies.

Brooks had one of his best seasons with the Grizzlies in 2022/23. The guard averaged 14.3 points and 3.3 rebounds in 73 games. The 27-year-old’s defensive performances earned him a spot in the second defensive team of the season.

In the season, Brooks was also highlighted in the first round of the playoffs, against the Los Angeles Lakers, when he made mocking comments about LeBron James being “old”. The guard was also ruled out of Game 3 of the series after hitting LeBron below the belt line and receiving a Level 2 flagrant foul.

The Canadian player was selected 45th in the 2017 draft by the Rockets themselves, but immediately moved to the Grizzlies, where he has played his entire career.
