The sitting volleyball team wins all the matches of the 1st qualifying round for Paris 2024

The Brazilian men’s sitting volleyball team beat all their opponents in the first phase of the Zonal Championshipthe modality Parapan, in Edmonton, Canada. The tournament qualifies the champion for the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games.

After winning the UNITED STATES and the Argentinathe team commanded by coach Fernando Guimarães beat Canada, the host team, by 3 sets to 0 (25/11, 25/18 and 25/17) this Thursday 11. With the result, the Brazilian team qualified for the semi-finals undefeated and as the competition leader.

Now he will face the Argentines, who finished the first phase in fourth place. The duel will take place this Friday 12 at 5 p.m. (Brasília time). The tournament matches can be followed by Canadian Volleyball Confederation YouTube.

Twelve athletes represent the Brazilian national team in North America. Prior to the trip, the team was concentrated at the Paralympic Training Center in São Paulo.

In the event of a title, the men’s sitting volleyball team, current champions of the tournament, guarantees a place at the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games, as well as the women’s team, already classified by the world title won in Sarajevo, Bosnia, in November last year.
