JThree people died in an avalanche on Wednesday in the British Columbia region of Canada.
According to the Associated Press, citing local organizations, the three skiers were part of a group of ten people who were caught in the avalanche near Invermere, at the Panorama Mountain resort.
Authorities said all members of the group have been found and four of the survivors were injured and are expected to recover in the coming days.
The only Canadian was the guide, but the nationalities of the victims were not disclosed.
The Associated Press notes that this is the sixth deadliest avalanche in the Canadian region since November. The heavy snowfall, caused by unstable weather conditions, resulted in the death of 12 other people.
Given the unpredictable snow conditions in the country’s mountains, Canadian authorities have warned winter sports enthusiasts to avoid large inland mountains.
