Tokio Marine Discusses Protecting Renewable Energy Systems at Event with Brokers and Corporate Segment Customers

In order to contribute to the debate on the change of the Brazilian electrical matrix and the protection of wind and solar farms, Tokio Marine is organizing the Expertise on renewable energies, on July 19th. Aimed at brokers and clients in the Corporate Products segment, the event will be held at Tokio Marine Hall and will bring together specialists from the public and private sectors.

The realization of the Expertise responds to the recent news of major investments in wind and solar projects in Brazil made in recent years. A report by the BID-CEBRI-EPE energy transition program, published in February this year, points out that renewable energies are expected to exceed the 70% participation mark in the country’s electricity matrix in 2050.

“We are very attentive to the evolution of the Brazilian energy sector and we have a great interest in disseminating, even more, our insurance solutions for the entire chain, including production, transport and distribution. Renewable energy expertise will include lectures by the Undersecretary of Energy in S. Paulo State Mines, Marisa Maia de Barros; Vice President of the Board of Directors of the Brazilian Photovoltaic Solar Energy Association (ABSOLAR), Bárbara Rubim; and the technical director of the Brazilian Association of Wind Energy and New Technologies (ABEEólica), Sandro Yamamoto.

The opening of the event will be held by the president of Tokio Marine, José Adalberto Ferrara, who will present the company’s growth data over the past ten years and the performance of the PJ products area during this interval. . Felipe Smith will speak about portfolio solutions to protect renewable energy parks. Today, Tokio Marine maintains 28 wind policies and 22 photovoltaic policies in its Power portfolio.

In addition to them, there will be an exhibition by Clir, a Canadian risk management consulting firm for the renewable energy sector with which Tokio Marine recently signed a partnership to offer the service exclusively and free of charge to its policyholders.

The main objectives of the Expertise event are to reinforce the image of Tokio Marine as a strong competitor in the PJ segment, to strengthen the company’s appetite for so-called big risks, to attract potential customers and strengthen the relationship between the leaders of the insurance company, business partners and Customers.
