For Darryl Green, the challenge as CEO will be to coordinate the strategic part of CIF, both globally and nationally. He joined the company in 2022, taking over as chief executive last August, and since then the company has taken on a series of international hires. Many names (including Darryl and Jason) come from ethocaidetch co-founded by Green and sold to MasterCard.

Other names brought in by the company were Vanita Pandey, formerVisa who took over as head of marketing, and Emma Lindley (also formerlyVisa) who joined to drive international expansion. In December, the other two founders of ethocaAndre Edelbrock and Trevor Clarke, joined the company and became members of the board of directors.

THE CIF was founded in 2019 in the quiet municipality of Venâncio Aires, in the interior of Rio Grande do Sul, by businessman Leonardo Rebitte, creating identity validation and digital onboarding solutions, verifying the authenticity of documents and using facial recognition to guarantee the legitimacy of people. In the middle of last year, the company received an investment of R$80 million signed by Canadians Darryl Green, André Edelbrock and Trevor Clarke, who co-founded the ethoca in 2005. Thanks to the contribution and expertise of the executives, the founder of CIF invited Darryl to become president of idtech (and indirectly opened more doors for Jason to be hired).

The company says on its website that it has completed over 26 million transactions and avoided BRL 877 million in fraud losses since its inception. The company increased its revenue by 10 times and its number of employees by 5 times in 2021. Currently, the startup has positions in São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, London, Toronto and Austin, in addition to the headquarters in Venancio Aires.
