Air Canada improves its products

Air Canada announced new features for its products and services, investing in the inflight travel experience. Improvements include an expansion of the food and beverage offering during the flight, seeking to cater to different tastes and needs. More family options have been added to the inflight entertainment library. Apart from this, the airline app has also been updated. The news is part of the initiative ‘More for traveling‘. Recently, the airline also announced that it would offer WiFi on board.

“At Air Canada, we know that a comfortable and enjoyable flight experience is an important part of our customers’ journeys,” said Jacqueline Harkness, Executive Director, Products and Services, Air Canada. “We are excited to offer more food and beverage options as we continue to improve the overall Air Canada onboard experience. The proposition is to cater to a variety of tastes and preferences, including products not currently available on any other Canadian airline.

The company has added several beverages to the menu, such as Earth’s Own Oat Milk (Canadian alternative to plant-based milk), Blue Moon Belgian White craft beers, Hop Valley IPA, Vizzy Strawberry, Orange Mimosa, Hard Seltzer, rosé wine from Provence, France, and Aperol Spritz. On the menu, chicken in butter sauce with rice pilaf, cauliflower masala and peas are some of the new menu options available to Premium Economy and Economy class customers on select flights.

Last month, Skytrax named Air Canada the most family-friendly airline for 2023. Now, through a global partnership with Mattel, the airline is bringing dozens of hours of kid-friendly content to the inflight entertainment system, with new content partners coming soon.

“Air Canada is proud to be the only Canadian airline to offer exclusive Mattel products such as Hot Wheels in the City, Thomas and Friends: Learning with Thomas, as well as episodes of the Barbie vlog – coming on the heels of the summer’s most anticipated movie release,” said John Moody, Executive Director of Product Design, Air Canada. “At the height of the family vacation season, parents and children can enjoy flying with an unparalleled range of in-flight entertainment options, including some of the most popular and beloved children’s programs.”

The latest updates to the Air Canada app provide quick and easy access to important travel information throughout your trip, such as boarding passes, Aeroplan member details, integrated airport passes and pre-ordering meals on international flights.

“Our customers want information and digital tools that meet their real-time needs when navigating through busy airports. Our goal is to deliver contextual travel information directly to our customers’ devices through Air Canada’s award-winning app. We have even more improvements to come,” said Derek Whitworth, Executive Director of Digital Customer Technology at Air Canada.
