The Governor of Mato Grosso do Sul, Eduardo Riedel (PSDB), received a visit from the Canadian Ambassador to Brazil, Emmanuel Kamarianakis, this Tuesday afternoon (26). Among the topics discussed at the Governor’s Office were investments in the state, as well as the exchange of experiences and possible negotiations.

According to the text provided to the press, the meeting was positive. “It was a very positive meeting, it is a meeting in which we can learn a little more about Mato Grosso do Sul, where Canada is very interested. We talked about future missions here in Campo Grande and in Mato Grosso do Sul,” he said. the ambassador.

He noted that important topics were on the agenda with the governor, including agribusiness, advanced manufacturing, energy transition, and innovation and technology projects both in the state and at Canada. “We will think about models of bilateral collaboration from an economic point of view,” he added.

The Special Secretary of the Government for International Relations, Luiz Renato, participated in the meeting and praised the good relations between the parties. “Integration of Canada and Mato Grosso do Sul, with Canadian companies getting to know the state for possible investments and with the reciprocity of Brazilian businessmen who want to know Canada. It was a very interesting meeting,” he said.

The meeting also took place in the presence of Vice-Governor José Carlos Barbosa, known as Barbosinha, and members of the Canadian Ambassador’s delegation. “Mato Grosso do Sul has built a positive scenario and an environment conducive to welcoming significant private investments from large national and international companies,” he concluded.
