A video went viral on social media showing Canadian defender Allysha Chapman shouting profanities during Canada’s 4-0 loss to Australia in a match qualifying for the final round of the group stage of the Women’s Football World Cup. As a result, the Canadians were eliminated from the tournament.
The gesture which gave rise to the insults occurred 20 minutes into the second half. Chapman ended up colliding with Hayley Raso, leaving them both lying on the field. The two argued, being reprimanded by the judge. The Canadian player, however, was angry with someone – the judge or a rival. Then came the insults.
Chapman shouted, “She fucking jumped on me!” Something that translates to: “That shit jumped on me, you idiot!”

The recording of the swearing and its live broadcast prompted an immediate public apology from the BBC’s English narrator, Robyn Cowen: “I apologize if any swear words were transmitted through the powerful microphones on the ground. »
Allysha Chapman is 34 years old. A defender, she wears jersey number 2 for the Houston Dash, a team from the state of Texas, in the United States.
