In the final match that won the gold medal in Doha, Bárbara and Carol beat Canadians Melissa Humana-Paredes and Brandie Wilkerson, with a double 21/18. After today’s feat, the Brazilian duo moved from fifth place in the world rankings (6720) to third place, with a total of 10140 points. Two other Brazilian duos still have a chance of going to Paris: Tainá and Victoria (5th in the ranking) and Ágata and Rebeca (9th).

Ranking for Paris 2024

In the Olympic race for a place in beach volleyball, the duo who wins the most medals on the world circuit has the best chance of ensuring their presence at Paris 2024. However, it is up to the Brazilian Volleyball Confederation (CBV) to indicate which pair will represent the country in the competition. .

Another way to secure a place is through the world rankings. The 17 best-ranked couples will travel to Paris 2024 from January 1 to June 10, 2024.
