With its 16th season recently added to Netflix, heart won more and more fans in Brazil. The Canadian production tells the story of a family on their ranch and has shown that it stands the test of time, being renewed for its 17th year.
However, many people do not know the meaning of the title of the series. As seen throughout the episodes, “Heartland” is the name of the family ranch, home to Amy, Lou, and their grandfather Jack. The word literally translates to “Land of the Heart”.
The title corresponds to the emotional and family approach of the series. In heartwe are introduced to the routine dilemmas of a family, from the small daily confrontations to the most complex and determining decisions.

Launched in 2007, heart is one of the most enduring productions in world television. The series features five actors, who form a family. Amy Fleming and her older sister Lou live at Heartland Ranch with their widowed grandfather Jack Bartlett.
In the same area lives Tim Fleming, her father who returned to the ranch after the death of Amy and Lou’s mother. Rounding out the main characters is Ty Burden, the family foreman of the Heartland Ranch.
The series features Amber Marshall, Michelle Morgan, Shaun Johnston, Chris Potter, and Graham Wardle in the main cast. heart can be seen from season 7 on Netflix, with season 16 just added.
