The Weeknd says he will only collaborate again…

Almost on strike! The Weeknd said he would no longer collaborate with other singers. During one of the shows on the After Hours Til Dawn tour, the musician opened up about the decision while featuring the performance of the unreleased single “Another One of Me.” “This will be my last partnership of my career, so I want to present it to you today.”

On social networks, he posted an excerpt from the performance and elaborated the ultimatum: “will be the last partnership…unless Daft Punk returns“, he wrote in the caption. The new track doesn’t yet have a release date, and The Weeknd hasn’t revealed who sings the song with.

The Canadian is known for several musical partnerships, including his collaboration with Daft Punk. In 2017, the artists teamed up to release the hit “I Feel It Coming”, from the Starboy album. The music video for the song has already surpassed one billion views on YouTube.

Daft Punk announced their disbandment in February 2021 after 28 years together. Former duo member Thomas Bangalter opened up about the breakup earlier this year. “I love technology as a tool, but I’m afraid of the nature of the relationship between machines and ourselves. Now that the story is complete, it’s interesting to reveal some of the creative process, which has was made by humans, without any kind of algorithm. My concerns about the rise of artificial intelligence go beyond creating music. We were trying to use these machines to express things that a machine cannot feel, but that a human can feel. We’ve always been on the side of humanity, not technology… As much as I love this character, as much the last thing I want to be, in the world we’re in live in 2024, is a robot.he explained.
