Embratur signed, on the second day of Abav Expo 2023, an agreement with Brasil Audiovisual Independente (Bravi) – representative of 675 audiovisual products – for the launch of the 1st audiovisual notice of Destination Films, which will select productions, including short films and animations, that promote Brazilian destinations abroad. Each of the five selected productions will receive R$60,000, for a total of R$300,000 invested. The full notice is available on the Embratur website.

Fernando Dias, councilor of Bravi, celebrated the signing of the agreement and the possibility of generating jobs that this notice offers. He spoke about the importance of promoting audiovisual as a public policy and cited the example of South Korea, which began producing audiovisual content with the encouragement of the government and which, today, reaps the benefits even in the tourism segment.

“There is no promotion without audiovisual, even in a bakery, it is important for sales. For Tourism, which depends on images and sensations, audiovisual is even more essential,” commented Dias.

Ana Paula Jaques, from Embratur, showed the details of the announcement and recalled that audiovisual is essential to build an image, the image that we want to transmit from Brazil to the world. According to her, the launch of the audiovisual campaign, through the notice, is the first kick-off to include the audiovisual tourism segment in the public policy agenda of the sector, requesting the establishment of a Film Commission BR, in addition to having a federal cash rebate.

Ana Paula also cited the case of Brazilian production Cangaço Novowhich moved millions of reais in the small town of Cabaceiras (PB) with just over 5,000 inhabitants.

Freixo said that this delivery and the launch of the Climate Action Guide for Tourism are part of a single project, that of a more inclusive country, more responsible with its tourism and aware of the image it wants to give in the world.

“These are different actions, but they are linked. They send the same message, namely that there is a new Embratur. And this new Embratur is the reflection of a new Brazil, a Brazil that has reconnected with the dialogue of respectful and coherent manner with the rest of the world.” Tourism is an ally of the climate agenda, it is a positioning, a way of looking at the world and thinking: what is the Brazil that we want to promote in the world? And this is what Embratur wants to convey as the image of a country, a Brazil that respects its nature, its ethnic groups and its customs and values its cultural and audiovisual production.”
